Learn to save lives – on land and underwater.
The PADI Emergency First Response (EFR) course teaches you how to react confidently in medical emergencies, whether they happen at the dive center, on the boat, or anywhere else in daily life. It’s the first aid and CPR training required before starting the PADI Rescue Diver course.
What You’ll Learn
During the EFR course, you’ll practice simple yet essential emergency care techniques based on internationally recognized CPR and First Aid protocols.
- Assess a situation and ensure safety for both rescuer and victim.
- Provide primary care (CPR) to someone who’s not breathing or has no pulse.
- Provide secondary care (First Aid) for injuries such as bleeding, shock, or burns.
- Use an AED (defibrillator) safely and effectively.
- Manage spinal injuries and place a patient in the recovery position.
- Administer oxygen to a diver or accident victim (optional module, recommended for divers).
The focus is on hands-on practice, calm decision-making, and realistic rescue scenarios.
Course Duration
- 1 full day of training (or split into two half-days).
- Includes theory, practical workshops, and scenario-based exercises.
Certification
After completion, you’ll receive your EFR certification, valid for 24 months. This certification meets the CPR and First Aid requirement for the PADI Rescue Diver and Divemaster courses.
