Course Overview
The PADI Deep Diver Specialty teaches you the skills, knowledge and techniques needed to safely explore deeper recreational dive sites.
During this two-day course, you will progressively develop your confidence and experience at depth, with four deep dives conducted under the supervision of a qualified PADI Instructor.
The course takes you beyond the limits of the PADI Advanced Open Water course and introduces you to the specific considerations of deeper recreational diving, up to 40 meters.
What You Will Learn

Understanding Depth
As you descend, pressure increases and your breathing gas consumption rises.
The Deep Diver Specialty gives you the opportunity to experience these changes in a controlled environment while learning how to adapt your dive planning and diving techniques.
You will progressively work toward the maximum recreational depth of 40 meters, always within the limits of your training, equipment and dive plan.

You will learn how to recognize the possible effects of narcosis, maintain good situational awareness and apply appropriate procedures when diving deeper.
Dive Planning & Gas Management
Deep diving requires more careful planning than shallower recreational dives.
You will learn how to consider:
- Depth and bottom time.
- No-decompression limits.
